Maimoona Fatima

Head of Secondary

I am a compassionate educator with diverse experience of educating various stages of students at the National and International levels for the last 17 years. I firmly believe that every individual can learn and grow given enough time and an environment conducive to learning. I joined Winchester since its inception in 2013 and have witnessed exponential growth of the school as well as myself. As most educationalists consider, “if you have lost the passion of learning you cannot transfer that to your students either” though I had a Bachelor's degree in education and a Master's Degree in Science which I have completed in the year 2003. I enrolled and graduated recently from Liverpool Hope University, the UK completing an International post-graduate certificate in Education.

I am equipped with various skills, being a Teacher, Phase leader, Lead teacher and Head of the department and now feel excited and privileged to be the Head of Secondary, wherein I am learning and further improving my competencies. In my present role, I am working on enhancing partnerships with parents, promoting the use of interventionist pedagogies, encouraging teachers to update their skills while maintaining a collaborative learning environment. I look forward in providing learning opportunities in and out of school so that students of all abilities enjoy and take ownership of their learning, ask questions and seek feedback that would develop traits like perseverance, resilience, optimism, and self-control that would enhance academic achievement, improve their health and enable them to be always happy and “be the best they can be”.
